Plomosas Zinc Mine & Production Centre
SNAPSHOT:
Location: State of Chihuahua, Mexico
Primary Metals: Zinc, Lead & Silver
Size: 30 sq. km
Infrastructure: Nearby highway system, diesel power generation (solar & battery system in progress), modern telecommunications and skilled labour force.
Ownership: 100% IMPACT
Acquired in April 2023, the high grade Plomosas project is located 150 km by road from the state capital, Chihuahua City. A major refurbishment of the mill and underground mine was completed since Q3 2023, and production levels have been ramping up consistently toward 225+ tpd design capacity. Recent average zinc mill head grade was 12.7%, ranking among the top-tier grades in the zinc industry globally.
PROJECT SNAPSHOT
The property hosts extensive carbonate replacement deposit-type ("CRD") zinc-lead-silver “mantos”. The previous operator reported Australian JORC mineral resources of 215,000 tonnes grading 13.5% zinc, 6.3% lead, and 34.0 g/t silver (indicated), and 772,000 tonnes grading 13.1% zinc, 3.0% lead, and 19.0 g/t silver (inferred) as of December 2021. (See ‘Cautionary Statements’ for information on these resources.)
IMPACT is currently conducting a multi-rig drill program to define and expand the historical resource. Additional exploration targets on the property include the Juarez target and untested copper-gold targets with high-grade surface prospecting samples. Regionally, Plomosas lies within the same mineral belt as some of the world's largest carbonate replacement deposits.
