IMPACT Silver Corp. ("IMPACT") is pleased to announce the completion of the second phase drill program at the Aurora 1 Zone in the Mamatla Mineral District. Aurora 1 is located 17 kilometers southwest of IMPACT's operating silver mines and processing plant in the Royal Mines of Zacualpan Silver District. Previous drilling defined the initial NI43 101 Compliant Mineral Resource Estimates for the Capire and Aurora 1 Zones (please see IMPACT news release dated November 19, 2009 for details).
Since then an additional 27 drill holes (2,931m) have been completed in the Aurora 1 Zone which will add to these previous Mineral Resource Estimates. Highlights of this program include expanding the limits of the Aurora 1 Zone to the east and west including intersections to expand the higher grade central core. The zone remains open for expansion to the east and west. Drilling is now proceeding on the nearby Capire Zone to confirm and potentially expand the high grade core and define the limits of the deposit. Capire and Aurora 1 are separated by a 200m gap and planned drilling of this gap may unite them. NI43-101 Mineral Resource estimates will be updated when this current phase of drilling is completed on both zones and results are received and interpreted. Both zones are being drilled on a 25 by 50 meter grid with core areas filled in to 12.5m by 25m. The Capire and Aurora 1 Zones occur in the same stratigraphy as the Campo Morado VMS district located 45 kilometres to the southwest where the G-9 VMS Deposit of Farallon Resources Ltd. (TSE:FAN) achieved commercial production last year.
Mine planning, metallurgical studies and economic studies are now underway to evaluate the production potential of the Capire and Aurora 1 Zones. The orientation and shallow depth from surface of the mineralization indicates potential for open pit mining of at least a portion of the zones.
