Recent geological mapping and a comprehensive interpretation of the Chontalpan Vein by IMPACT'S exploration team indicates that this northeasterly dipping structure is both one of the dominant, and longest in the district, with a defined strike length of 3.5 km and a projected strike length of 12 km. Within the Chontalpan Project Area, the Chontalpan Vein and associated structures have been traced through soil geochemistry and geological mapping for 1.6 km. Initially this drill program will focus on two southernmost target areas.
The first Chontalpan target to be drill tested will be the northwestern extension of the veins from the old Chontalpan Mine workings. In the past, a very old claim boundary separating different claim owners prevented the exploitation of both the Chontalpan Vein (the main producer for the Chontalpan Mine), and the Poblana Vein (a parallel structure 75 meters to the southwest). The proposed drilling will test both of these veins immediately to the northwest of this claim boundary. Sampling of the Chontalpan Vein by IMPACT in the old underground workings returned values of 1,305g/t and 675g/t Silver in grab samples from old mine pillars.
The second target is the Loma Larga area located 750 meters to the northwest of the Chontalpan Mine. Loma Larga is marked by a prominent 400 meter long soil geochemical anomaly for gold-silver-lead-zinc and five old mine workings with rock sample values up to 324g/t silver over a sample width of 2.0 meters.
